Rockies sign Mora
The Colorado Rockies have signed veteran third baseman Melvin Mora to a one-year contract worth $1.3 million.
In an interesting twist of fate, Colorado’s former third baseman, Garrett Atkins, signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Orioles.
Mora was the third baseman for Baltimore for the last several seasons. Atkins will actually play first base for the O’s after they signed Miguel Tejada.
The Rockies are hoping that Mora can bounce back from two consecutive disappointing seasons.
It will certainly help that Mora gets to hit in the thin-air of Colorado, and I’m sure he will be motivated to prove he isn’t done quite yet.
