Rockies sign Street to three-year deal
The Colorado Rockies have signed closer Houston Street to a three-year contract worth $22.5 million.
There is also a mutual option for the 2013 season that could turn it into a four-year, $31 million contract.
Street said it would have been a hard contract not to sign given the security it provides for his family.
He saved 35 of 37 games last season despite missing the last month because of soreness in his biceps.
The closer struggled in the playoffs, but has maintained that it had nothing to do with the health of his biceps.
